Best for ages 4-12. As we close out the celebrations for Hispanic Heritage Month, we finish with painting your own alebrije! First dreamt by a Mexican artist at the turn of the 20th century, alebrije sculptures have become a beloved form of folk art and now you have a chance to make your own. Learn the history and themes behind these cool sculptures while you custom paint your own just in time for this year's Day of the Dead celebrations. Registration is required, and space is limited to children only. Registration now opens to Midlothian residents beginning Sept. 19th; fully open to all on Oct. 4th. Please be aware that this workshop will involve paint, so wear your painting shirt!

Ideal para niños de 4 -12 años. Al finalizar las celebraciones del mes de la Herencia Hispana, ¡terminamos pintando tu propio alebrije! Soñadas por primera vez por un artista mexicano a principios del siglo XX, las esculturas de alebrije se han convertido en una forma querida de arte popular y ahora tienes la oportunidad de hacer el tuyo propio. Aprende la historia y los temas detrás de estas geniales esculturas mientras pintas las tuyas justo a tiempo para las celebraciones del Día de los Muertos de este año. Se requiere registración y el espacio está limitado solo a niños. La registración se abre a los residentes de Midlothian a partir del 19 de septiembre; completamente abierto a todos el 4 de octubre. ¡No olvides usar tu camisa de pintura!
